How Bakt works
Pump.fun coins, framed against tokenized stocks.
What is this?
Bakt is a launchpad for meme coins that are measured against real equities instead of just SOL. Every coin launched here is a real SPL token created on pump.fun, and every coin picks one of the twelve xStocks — tokenized stocks issued on Solana by Backed Finance — as its base pair. Your coin's board price, chart, and quote panel are all denominated against that stock.
What happens when you launch
Metadata goes to IPFS
Your token image, name, ticker, and description are uploaded through pump.fun's IPFS endpoint. The returned metadataUri is what the token points to on-chain forever.
PumpPortal builds the create transaction
We request a create transaction from the PumpPortal local-transaction API with your wallet as the fee payer, a freshly generated mint keypair, and your optional dev buy included in the same transaction.
You sign in Phantom
The transaction is signed locally by the new mint keypair, then Phantom asks you to approve. Your private key never leaves your wallet and our server never sees or holds keys — it only relays unsigned transactions.
The coin is live
Your token exists on pump.fun's bonding curve within seconds. It appears on the Bakt board tagged with its stock base pair, with a link to its pump.fun page.
The base pairs
Only xStocks live on Solana are supported. Each is a freely transferable SPL token tracking the underlying equity, issued 1:1 by Backed Finance:
Prices shown across the site are live from Jupiter and refresh roughly every minute.
What "backed by a stock" means here
The stock is the unit of account, not collateral. A coin paired to NVDAx quotes its price in NVIDIA terms — outperform the pair and the chart goes up even when the whole market pumps. It's a harder benchmark than SOL: beating the S&P is a bigger flex than beating gravity. The coins themselves are standard pump.fun tokens; they are not redeemable for shares.
Fees and costs
- Creating a coin costs roughly 0.02 SOL in pump.fun and network fees, plus whatever dev buy you choose.
- PumpPortal's local API adds a 0.5% fee on the dev buy amount only. Bakt charges nothing.
- Trading after launch happens on pump.fun's bonding curve; standard pump.fun fees apply there.
